Home Sweet Home

Well, we did it! We're home sweet home on Sage Brush Drive. After several stressful days leading up to the closing, we are happy to say that we feel right at home now. Thanks to everyone who helped move boxes, paint rooms and trim, bring food, and provide moral support! You can't really see it in this picture, but our URBAN rock is also at home in our new front yard.

In other news, we're in the second trimester now and will plan to find out the gender of this little baby in November! You know we have no patience and can't wait! Grace and Ben are playing soccer. Gracie starts Daisies next week....one step before Brownies and two steps before Girl Scouts. We still get to sell the cookies though! Brandon is in an all-day softball tournament today. The kids spent the night at Nana and Papa's last night and are off to the pumpkin patch with Mama and Papa today. I joined the church choir and we practice tomorrow! Life goes on, eh? Here are some pics from the move.

The rain comes to an end...

This is the last weekend in our house, and after several days of rain, we were blessed to see a full rainbow above our heads tonight. Pictures don't do it justice, but here you go!

8 days left!

Wow, we only have 8 days left until the big move! My sister has informed me that we haven't updated our blog in forever, which would suggest that we haven't had anything much to blog about.. but I'm thinking we've been pretty busy! Soccer has started, so that's two games and two practices a week. Gracie will begin Girl Scouts next week (although she's considered a Daisy until 2nd grade). I have class at KU on Tuesdays and a Zumba dance class on Mondays, and Brandon has been busy with work, softball, and golf! We've been packing in our spare time and Brandon deserves an award for the best husband of the year. I've been sick so he's been stuck with a lot of extra stuff around the house. I love you Brandon! My first trimester will be coming to an end in a couple of weeks, so hopefully things will improve! Anyway, that's all from the Urban life for now.

Weekend at the Farm

This weekend, we took a road trip to Olmitz, Kansas to visit Brandon's grandparents on the farm. We had a great time, and here are some of the highlights...Each day we walked down the driveway to the "dip", where we threw rocks in the water. Then we'd go up the road a bit to the "giant ant hill" and throw rocks at it until the ants came out! We picked sunflowers, got lost in the corn maze that Grandpa constructed, and played "Annie, Annie, Over", a game where we throw a ball over the house and if the others catch it they have to catch us! Never a dull moment! We had lots of wonderful farm cooking, and the fresh air made Julie and Ben's allergies even worse! On Sunday, Ben and Mom and Dad went with Grandpa to the Hoisington Demolition Derby, where we saw all kinds of people, and all kinds of things! If you've never been to a demolition derby, you need to try it at least once! Then, we came back to Lawrence and began packing....we move in 18 days! Needless to say, the farm was loads of fun and we'll be back again later in the fall.
