Scorpions Soccer

The Scorpions had a great win today! Ben scored a goal, Brandon and Jeremy coached a great game, and Grace and Mommy cheered them all on. With only one more game left in the indoor season, our little team of 1st and 2nd graders has finally shown us what they can do. What a game! Here are a few pics.

Ben also played goalie for a quarter and stopped that ball EVERY time. Way to go, Ben. Let's see if this streak can continue as outdoor soccer begins next month!!!

Secret Agent Savers...

Ben and Grace became super, secret agent savers at Central National Bank. They opened their very own savings accounts today at Uncle Aaron's bank. Ben opened his account with $6 and Grace opened hers with $10. They got to tour the bank and hold a large sum of money. Then they got their secret agent ID cards and were told to create their secret agent names. Ben is Agent Funky and Grace hasn't thought of her name yet. She prefers to keep it "secret".

They had to sign on the dotted line to complete the process. Grace signed her name "Grace Urbam" and Ben signed his name "Benjemin Urban". We may have some work to do on our signatures, but at least we're starting to learn the value of money.

A story from Grace....

So the other night, we were driving home from Megan and Barry's house and Gracie says "Mommy, are there real crosses in Lawrence?" We were listening to Christian music on the radio so I wasn't surprised she had brought up crosses, but what came next was definitely one for the books. "Real crosses? Sure, there are real crosses everywhere," I explained. "Mamma has crosses on her wall, you have a cross in your bedroom, etc." Grace pondered that for a moment and then said "No, Mommy, REAL crosses." I said, "What are REAL crosses?" She replied "The big, giant wooden ones that are in the ground!" I thought for a moment and said "Well, sure, I suppose there are real crosses in Lawrence. Why?" Grace thought for another moment and said "Well, then you and me, Mommy, we can go get a ladder and put our sins on the cross!"

I smiled and said, "Gracie, do you know what sins are?" She said "No, but I know we have to nail them to the cross!"
