Wacky, Wet, Wednesday

Yesterday, Sandra and I baked cookies all morning to thank the Schwegler staff for throwing me a baby shower. The kitchen was full of wonderful smells! Unfortunately, the basement "stink" could not be ignored. After pulling the carpet up, Brandon and I realized that the damage was much more worse (and stinky) than we had thought, and everything had to go!

So, Brandon and his parents pulled up the carpet and the pad underneath and began to clean out the basement floor. Brandon and his dad found the clogged drain just outside of our walkout basement door and "unclogged" it. When the kids got home from school, they helped sweep and vacuum, while Brandon and I ran to Home Depot to price some tile. There's no use putting more carpet in with this crazy Kansas weather.

Once the rains let up, we will bring home some tile and begin a new project, one that needs to be completed fast, since Ben's birthday party is in two weeks..at our house!

MONITORING MOLLY: Molly went for her one month check-up today. It's hard to believe she's been here nearly a month! She weighed in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces...somewhere near the 65%ile. She was 23 inches long, (99th percentile) which explains why all of her outfits are too short! She's been having a hard time taking her bottle lately and has been a little bit grumpy. It turns out that she has thrush. Poor thing! On antibiotics already! She's not letting that get in the way of enjoying her food. Obviously.

And the rains came...

This weekend defined Kansas weather. We had rain, we had twisters, we had wind...and we had flooding. Well, our basement did anyway! As you can see, it didn't bother Molly much, and the kids thought it was funny how Daddy was moving all of the furniture around. He didn't think so!

So big!

It's hard to believe Molly will be four weeks old on Thursday. Here is a picture that demonstrates just how much she is growing! How big is Molly? So big!

Weekend Warriors

This weekend was a busy one. We woke up Saturday morning to a wet and dreary day, and although Gracie's soccer game was rained out, Ben was still able to play his game later in the afternoon.

Gracie went to a Girl Scout carnival at Hidden Valley. She had a great time with Mamma learning how to get rid of moles in the ground (the Daisy service project), getting her face painted with mud, playing games, making smores, and much much more.

Molly slept, ate, and pooped....as usual! But, she did have her first real bath in her cute, little, pink bathtub!

And after all was said and done, the kids were tuckered out. They put their pj's on, read Goodnight Moon to Molly, and headed for bed...one more weekend over, and another week to begin....

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! This weekend, we were very busy with the Schwegler art/book fair, two soccer games, visits by family and friends, church, and Easter activities. Molly did quite well adjusting to all of the chaos. We even squeezed in the time for Brandon to watch the Master's! (or I never would have heard the end of it...)

This week we are planning to take it easy. I think we could all use a little R & R!

(We tried to get Ben to wear a pink linen shirt, but he wouldn't do it. We had to return the shirt and exchange it for the brown polo.)

Molly awake!

Some of you have commented that Miss Molly is often sleeping...and just when you walk out the door, she wakes up and plays! So here is a short video proving that she does have some awake time!

First Bath

Molly had a very relaxing day after she was up all night! We tried to keep her entertained today so that she'll sleep a bit better tonight, but she appears to have her own agenda. Brandon gave her a little bath this afternoon, which seemed to relax her even more! She enjoys getting her hair washed.

Aunt Sarah bought Molly a new bouncy seat this morning. This, too, added to her spa day.

Home Sweet Home

We got home from the hospital around 10:30 this morning. Since then, Miss Molly has been a little angel! She hasn't woken up much to check out her new surroundings, but in the brief time that she's been home, she's managed to pee all over her one and only outfit that fits as well as our leather couch! Oh, what babies bring! We are thrilled to have her home. Ben and Grace have soccer games today so Brandon has been in and out. We will all be home this afternoon to make sure Molly gets adjusted to the chaos of Urban life. :)

And then there were five....

Here is our first "family of five" picture.

Molly had a good night last night. She ate at 10:00 and then we sent her to the nursery for what Gracie called "A baby sleep-over." She woke up to eat again and went right back to sleep. Let's hope she continues that pattern when we come home tomorrow!

Nicknames so far have been "Mo" (she has a mohawk at the moment), "Molly Bell", "Hot TaMolly", "GuacaMolly", and "Molly B". Poor thing!

Baby Molly Arrives!

After getting bumped from our original induction time of 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and then returning to the hospital at 6:30 p.m., Molly Isabel arrived at 8:06 a.m. on Thurday April 2nd... no foolin'!

She is a beautiful little girl who bears an uncanny resemblance to her big brother Ben. Here are a few pics... more to come later.
